The Perrégaux and the Diederichs were amongst the great manufacturing families who, in the 19th and 20th centuries, would leave their mark on the economic landscape of the Bas-Dauphiné region. These manufacturers implemented generous social policies through patronage and investment in their communities, often engaging in politics.
