Worked silk

“Worked” fabric refers to a piece of fabric with a woven pattern.

The piece presented here is an edged broché taffeta with a viscose warp and a silk weft.

  • taffeta: a silk plain-weave fabric.
  • edging: pattern obtained using a weft base.
  • broché: pattern obtained via an additional weft which passes through the width of the fabric without contributing to the background design.
