The thread counter was an indispensable tool for a weaver. It was used in the local Diederichs weaving mills. As its name suggests, an instant thread counter provides an immediate count of the number of threads per centimeter, as well as being used to examine a piece of fabric, a detail of the weave, a drawing, etc.
