Posture-correcting vest
Nickel skirt
Our sedentary lifestyle, poor posture in front of our phone or computer screens, a lack of fresh air—all of these factors contribute to a variety of problems that are harmful to our health: neck pain, back pain, respiratory problems… The posture-correcting vest designed by Anna-Barbara Aumüller was produced in collaboration with an osteopath and a textile weaver.
Unlike the straps on most “corrective” T-shirts, which too often squeeze the body and, more importantly, constrict muscles and ligaments that shouldn’t be “cut off”, this jacket avoids any constriction. The combination of straps exerting soft and oblique traction open the rib cage and straighten the spine without strain. The muscles in the shoulder blades are toned and engaged. Abdominal muscles are supported by a weave which compresses the lower abdomen at varying levels up to the solar plexus. Inflatable silicone pads with pressurization buttons consolidate and strengthen the lumbar region with a custom-made support system. This system would ideally enable one hour of use to improve the wearer’s well-being over the entire day, making them aware of correct posture and enabling them to self-correct.
The jacket is accompanied by an unstructured nickel skirt.
